Community college should meet students where they are—and help them get where they want to go.
My priorities are to protect strong academics, prepare students for an AI-shaped economy and evolving careers, remove practical barriers, build clearer pathways from K–12 to college to careers, and offer flexible, inclusive learning for students at every stage of life—while remaining accountable to the residents who invest in our colleges.

Future-Ready Education with Strong Academics
AI and other technologies are changing how people work, learn, communicate, create, and solve problems. Strong academics remain the foundation of a great community college.
What I Will Do: Protect strong transfer, academic, arts, humanities, science, and career programs while expanding digital skills, AI literacy, communication, critical thinking, creativity, civic understanding, and real-world problem solving.
High-Quality, Affordable, Accessible Education
Too many students encounter barriers unrelated to academics: textbook costs, confusing pathways, limited schedules, transportation, childcare, food, and technology needs.
I support expanded use of open educational resources and low-cost course materials, along with broader financial aid and practical assistance.
K–12 Partnerships and Career Pathways
Strengthen partnerships with local schools to expand college access and early college opportunities, especially for underserved and first-generation students.
Expand internships, apprenticeships, paid work-based learning, workforce training, stackable certificates, and rapid retraining for displaced workers.
Flexible Learning with Real Connection
Support online, hybrid, evening, weekend, and short-term classes while ensuring strong interaction, instructor engagement, tutoring, group learning, peer connection, and learning communities.
Technology should support—not replace—teachers and human connection.
Real-World Student Support, Inclusion, and Community Connection
Strengthen counseling, mentoring, life skills, and student-success programs. Explore bringing 18–22 transition programs onto Foothill and De Anza campuses and expand lifelong-learning opportunities for adults with disabilities.
Our colleges should be community anchors for education, workforce training, civic dialogue, culture, innovation, inclusion, and lifelong learning.
Accountability, Transparency, and Residents First
Support two-way hybrid Board meetings, easy-to-find recordings, clear meeting summaries, and transparent budgeting with an easy-to-understand dashboard.
Study legally sound ways to ensure local students have fair access to high-demand classes. Manage enrollment and finances responsibly, and protect voter-approved bond funds through clear project lists, cost updates, timelines, oversight, audits, and completion reports.
